Course Overview
Deep margin elevation (DME) i s a technique used to relocate the cervical margin of a tooth with subgingival defect s to a supragingival position. It involves using a direct restorative material to improve clinical outcomes in complex Class II restorations in both direct and indirect restorations. Successful DME requires proper case selection, isolation and adhesion to ensure a strong marginal seal and a stable base for ceramic or composite restorations. This approach helps maintain long-term tooth integrity.
In this lecture we will discuss important strategies to successfully implement DME.
