Overview
Aligners have transformed our ability to address the macro-aesthetics of a smile minimally invasively — but the cases that look truly natural are the ones where aligner therapy is finished restoratively with intent. The final touch is where good cases become great ones.
This lecture presents a framework for planning and executing aesthetic cases through the integration of clear aligners and resin bonding, anchored in a philosophy of minimally invasive aesthetics.
The lecture focuses on smile design as the foundation of every case — analysing the macro-aesthetic parameters that define a harmonious smile, using digital platforms such as SmileCloud to plan precisely, and leveraging aligners to address those parameters conservatively. The final touch introduces the Three Pillars of resin bonding (Shade, Shape and Shine) and the layering, anatomy and polishing protocols that produce a ceramic-like finish. It will go over multiple clinical cases, demonstrating how aligners and restorative dentistry work together to deliver outcomes that are predictable, conservative and aesthetic.
